ZF wins big at commercial vehicle awards

ZF Friedrichshafen AG has won big in an awards show run by three German commercial vehicle magazines.

The German company, which Ecodrive partners as an authorised ZF DriveCentre in the UK, was named ‘Best Brand 2017’ in the commercial vehicle transmission category for a whopping 13^th year in a row.

ZF also won first place in the retarder category of the reader’s choice awards run by commercial vehicle magazines Lastauto Omnibus (Lorry Omnibus), Trans Aktuell (Transportation Current) and Fernfahrer (Truck Driver).

Sponsored by the ETM publishing house, the awards are granted based on a combination of votes from readers and input from commercial vehicle industry experts.

In the commercial vehicle transmission category, ZF won around 50 per cent of the votes and in the retarder category, they won with more than 55 per cent of the votes.

To be considered for the transmission award, ZF also managed to convince a panel of industry experts including manufacturers, fleet operators and professional drivers that ZF drive systems offer the best quality with the highest level of efficiency and cost effectiveness.

In the second retarder category, ZF’s wear-free retarder which is integrated into the transmission and handles up to 90 per cent of all braking actions was enough to convince the judges and the readers that it was the best product for commercial vehicles.
