Ecodrive appointed as the first UK commercial vehicle distributor for Bosch steering products
Ecodrive has been appointed as the first UK commercial vehicle distributor for the newly renamed Robert Bosch Automotive Steering GmbH.
The company was renamed following the Bosch Group’s acquisition of ZF Friedrichshafen’s 50 per cent stake in ZF Lenksysteme GmbH in January of this year. Now with a 100 per cent stake in the company, Bosch has appointed Ecodrive as the first UK commercial vehicle distributor of its products.
The steering products company is a leading manufacturer of modern fuel-saving electric steering systems. These systems currently make up around 60 per cent of the company’s sales. In the future, the technology will prove instrumental in the development of autonomous vehicles and electric cars.
Ecodrive looks forward to working with the company as a distributor of electronic steering systems for commercial vehicles.
Ecodrive service engineer delivers speedy foreign repair on the south coast
One of Ecodrive’s Product Support Partners, who helps us to deliver repairs and servicing right across the UK, recently helped a foreign tour coach get back on the road after carrying out a service visit at Brewers DAF in Eastbourne on the south coast.
Chris from Brewers DAF commended the service engineer for his expertise and his ability to locate the source of the problem. The engineer quickly diagnosed the fault, and to DAFs delight he was able to carry out an on-the-spot repair to help the vehicle get back to mainland Europe.

Skip hire firm back on the road in no time
A Hull-based skip hire company, Whites Skip Hire, has praised the excellent service they received from Ecodrive recently. Ecodrive were called in to investigate a problematic AS-Tronic transmission fitted in an Iveco skip truck.
An Ecodrive engineer quickly determined the source of the fault and arranged for the gearbox to be removed and transported to Ecodrive’s workshop. A remove-and-refit engineer carried out the repair and got the vehicle back on the road with minimal fuss and downtime.
