Ecodrive Transmissions Limited attend annual CPT dinner with proceeds going to charity
Ecodrive Transmissions Limited are proud to have attended the annual CPT dinner earlier this month, an event held to represent the fixed track passenger sector in the UK.
The CPT (Confederation of Passenger Transport) is recognised by the Government as the voice of the bus and coach industry, providing consultation on national and international legislation, local regulations, operational practices and engineering standards. Members, including Ecodrive, range from the largest international transport operators to small family businesses.
With access to politicians, policy advisers, decision makers at all levels, CPT ensure that all members’ voices are heard and their interests safeguarded within the central government. CPT ensures protection of its members by working to inform, enhance and influence the bus and coach industries.

Transaid – an organisation that works with partners and governments to solve transport challenges in economically developing countries, were invited as beneficiary charity to the event and with the help of Jon Stone from Ecodrive Transmissions Limited and our peers, managed to raise £4,312 towards providing invaluable support for ongoing transport programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa.
In the past 12 months Transaid have achieved:
– Trained 5,929 PSV, HGV and FLT operators in Zambia and Tanzania.
– Trained 24 driving trainers and assessors.
– Facilitated 12 professional volunteer placements across varying programmes.
– Developed new HGV/PSV curricula and instructors’ manual, to be used in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda.
Transaid will be holding a European cycling challenge that will begin in London and end in Paris. Running from 22nd-25th September 2017, promises to be a challenging 240 mile cycle through the English and French countryside.
